Barbara McKnight - Founder and Principal Consultant
Barbara believes that everyone deserves to lean and grow, and she has spent her career helping companies provide learning opportunities to their employees and leaders. Barbara has more than 25 years of experience in Learning and Talent Management and has held executive Learning and Development roles across multiple industries, including: Mortgage Banking, Healthcare and Education. Most recently she is the founder of Teal Talent Development, a boutique consulting firm that specializes in meeting the learning and development needs of small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Barbara holds certifications from Franklin Covey, the Ken Blanchard Company (Situational Leadership), Predictive Index, DDI, Achieve Global, DISC and Korn Ferry/Lominger Voices 360. She is a member of SHRM and ATD and was one of the first recipients of ATD’s Certified Professional in Learning and Performance designation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre and a master’s degree in organizational management. Barbara lives in Phoenix where she and her husband Jason love spending as much time outdoors in the beautiful Arizona weather as possible.
Why Teal?
You may have been familiar with the name McKnight-Meyers Solutions, LLC. Or, you may be wondering Why Teal? We’re really glad you asked! We changed the name we do business under in mid 2018 to help in the fight against Ovarian Cancer. Teal is the color for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. As a survivor of Ovarian Cancer, Barbara is committed to increasing awareness and early diagnosis of this disease which strikes over 20,000 women every year. Every time anyone asks about the name, it is an opportunity for us to remind everyone that Ovarian Cancer can be hard to detect and it’s symptoms can easily be dismissed. Help us increase awareness by sharing Ovarian Cancer symptoms and early detection on the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition website.
